Overview
Misasagi offers comfortable extended-stay accommodations for up to five guests in a thoughtfully renovated home that balances modern convenience with subtle Japanese design elements. Dark wood beams accent the contemporary interior, while stylish wallpaper in carefully chosen locations adds visual interest throughout the space. The property features three bedrooms with both Western and traditional Japanese sleeping arrangements, providing flexibility for different guest preferences. Located just three minutes from Misasagisagi Station on the Tozai subway line, Misasagi places residents within easy reach of Kyoto’s extensive transit network while maintaining the peaceful atmosphere of a residential neighborhood.
As a monthly rental property, Misasagi caters specifically to extended stays, making it ideal for remote workers, families relocating temporarily, or travelers seeking an immersive experience of daily life in Kyoto beyond typical tourist timelines.
Location
Misasagi sits in a quiet residential area just three minutes on foot from Misasagisagi Station, offering immediate access to the Tozai subway line that connects efficiently across Kyoto. This convenient positioning places daily necessities within easy reach, with a Lawson convenience store three minutes away and Gyomu Super supermarket five minutes from the property. These practical amenities become invaluable for monthly residents managing regular shopping and daily routines.
The Tozai line opens exploration throughout Kyoto’s diverse districts, while Misasagisagi Station’s proximity to Yamashina Station provides additional transportation options. A single stop brings residents to Yamashina, where the JR Tokaido-Sanyo Line offers direct connections to Kyoto Station and the broader regional rail network. This same station provides access to Bishamon-do Temple, where magnificent Japanese maple trees create spectacular autumn displays that draw photographers and nature enthusiasts each fall season.
For those seeking to explore beyond Kyoto proper, the Tozai line extends to Rokujizo Station, where transfers to the JR Nara Line unlock access to the historic Uji area. This charming riverside town offers some of Japan’s finest green tea, stunning temple complexes including the UNESCO World Heritage Byodoin Temple, and a more relaxed pace that complements Kyoto’s urban energy.
Within walking distance, Honkoku-ji Temple sits just sixteen minutes from the property, providing a local spiritual site for quiet contemplation without the tourist crowds that characterize more famous Kyoto temples. The residential neighborhood itself rewards daily exploration with authentic glimpses into Japanese life that longer stays allow residents to discover and appreciate.
Coin parking facilities located four minutes away accommodate residents who choose to maintain vehicle access during their extended stay, though the excellent public transportation connections make car ownership optional rather than necessary.
Description
Enter through the genkan into a home where modern renovation respects traditional Japanese spatial concepts while prioritizing contemporary comfort. The first floor’s practical layout places a restroom immediately accessible from the entrance, ensuring convenient facilities for residents and guests throughout the day.
The kitchen and dining area features standard appliances suitable for daily cooking, with a 4K smart TV providing entertainment options for relaxing evenings. Vibrant green accent wallpaper behind the dining table creates a striking focal point, while subtle light gray wallpaper throughout the home establishes a calm, sophisticated atmosphere. The preserved dark wood beams overhead add warmth and visual interest, demonstrating how renovation can honor original architectural elements while updating living spaces for modern needs.
The washroom connects to an outdoor patio where the washing machine is stationed, allowing laundry routines without occupying interior space. This practical arrangement suits extended stays where regular laundry becomes part of weekly rhythms rather than travel inconveniences. The bathroom features a standard Japanese shower and bathing setup, providing familiar comfort for daily routines.
Ascending to the second floor reveals three distinct bedrooms designed to accommodate different sleeping preferences and guest configurations. The first bedroom offers Western-style comfort with a single bed, suitable for individual residents or children. The second bedroom features a double bed beneath a vaulted ceiling that adds architectural interest and creates an airy, open atmosphere.
The third bedroom embraces traditional Japanese aesthetics with tatami flooring and two comfortable futons for sleeping. Traditional Japanese window coverings complete the cultural atmosphere, while a veranda provides access to fresh air and a small outdoor retreat. This room offers residents the opportunity to experience authentic Japanese sleeping arrangements during their extended stay.
Throughout Misasagi, split-unit air conditioning and heating systems ensure year-round comfort, while WiFi connectivity keeps residents connected for work and personal communication. The combination of practical amenities, accessible location, and comfortable spaces creates an environment where monthly residents can establish genuine routines rather than merely extending a vacation.
