Yanagi

Overview

Yanagi is a stylish and elegantly simple Kyoto townhouse, designed to ensure the ultimate comfort and flexibility in a peaceful location easily accessible from the city center. This two-story house is located only 2 minutes from Chushojima Station on the Keihan Line. From there, you have easy access to Kyoto Station or the Higashiyama area.

This home can accommodate up to five guests, with three bedrooms on the second floor – one room with a generous double bed and two rooms with one single bed each. The first floor also features an additional room that can be used as a bedroom with a futon available for an additional fee. With a restroom on each floor, Yanagi offers ultimate comfort and convenience. With an abundance of cooking ware and all of the essential appliances, the kitchen is fully equipped to handle all your cooking needs during your stay. Coupled with the large six-person dining table, Yanagi is a great place for families who plan to make the house a home for an extended period of time.

Being a modern style Kyoto townhouse, Yanagi is easy to keep tidy and suits travelers of all styles, who can turn this townhouse into their very own townhome.

Location

Located just three minutes from Chushojima Station on foot, Yanagi offers an incredibly convenient location. From Chushojima Station, one can be to Kyoto station in 25 minutes with only one transfer or to the Kamo River and Higashiyama area directly via the Keihan Line in just 15 minutes. The Kamo River area is populated by excellent dining establishments as well as wonderful city views. It’s one of the city’s ‘must visit’ destinations. Chushojima also offers ease of access to Osaka, with the Keihan Line running through Kyobashi and all the way to Yodoyabashi Station near Umeda.

The Chushojima area is packed with retro-style traditional houses and overflowing with chic cafes and stylish bars. After just a short walk around, it’s truly difficult not to fall in love with Chushojima. This may be especially so for those who fancy traditional Japanese Sake, as the Fushimi Sake Village is only a seven-minute walk from the house.

The area along the canal is great for taking relaxing walks after a long day of working remotely. With much greenery and the sound of flowing water, one can easily forget they are still in the city. For an idyllic scene that one won’t soon forget, we recommend the canal tour on traditional boats during the spring when the plethora of sakura trees are blooming.

Description

The flow of Yanagi’s interior is artfully considered and designed to be lived in with a layout flexible enough to suit a cross-section of traveling types. It could be perfect for families with children, couples, or a small group of traveling friends. With complete laundry facilities and ample space for storing clothes either in the drawers under the beds or in the chests of drawers, those who are planning to stay in Kyoto for a while will find the home extremely comfortable and easily adaptable to their needs.

With the living and entertaining space on the first floor, and the sleeping quarters on the second, there’s a clear divide between the spaces, allowing guests to utilize the space the way they wish without intruding on the wants of others.

The entrance of the house opens up to a spacious genkan, which has plenty of room for shoes and various other things that one may wish to leave here. Moving in from the genkan, you will find the kitchen and dining area, complete with a 55-inch 4K smart TV so you can log in to your Netflix account and binge some of your favorite shows while preparing a meal in the modern kitchen. Branching off from the dining area, you have the first restroom, the washroom – complete with a washer / dryer combo unit, and the additional room that can be used as a fourth bedroom or storage depending on your needs.

Making your way upstairs you will first be greeted by the largest bedroom featuring a plush double bed. Past this room you will find a sink, great for preparing for bed just before sleeping or for when multiple people need to get ready quickly. Across from the sink you will find the second restroom. Finally, you have the two smaller bedrooms. Each outfitted with a single bed, these rooms would be perfect if you are staying with children or if you have guests during your stay.
