Overview

Kuriko is a newly renovated vacation home located in northern Osaka’s Asahi Ward. This 42-square-meter home is a cozy, comfortable base for groups of up to seven people to explore the city. Featuring a soothing color scheme of earthy greens and burnt orange, you’ll love relaxing in this charming space.

The ground floor entrance opens into a snug living and dining area. To your left is the entertainment space which comes complete with a convertible sofa bed and large flat-screen television, plus a fully-stocked bathroom and separate shower room. Nestled beside the staircase are a quaint kitchenette, dining table, and restroom. 

Upstairs has two comfortable bedrooms: the first is a traditional Japanese tatami bedroom featuring a double futon with extra cushioning for maximum comfort. The second space is the spacious master bedroom, featuring a comfy double bed plus a double sofa bed. Sliding doors give you the option of joining the two rooms and creating a spacious, communal atmosphere. Location

Kuriko is conveniently located just a four-minute walk from Sembayashi Station and an eight-minute walk from Sembayashi-Omiya station. It’s well-positioned to allow guests to explore both Osaka city and the surrounding area, which is ideal for sightseeing day-trips. 

The Tanimachi subway train gives you easy access to attractions like Tenjinbashi-Suji Shopping Street, Osaka Castle, the Umeda Sky Building and Tenmangu Shrine. It also goes directly to Osaka Station, the most convenient transfer point in the city. From there, getting to attractions like Dotonbori, Universal Studios Japan, Tsutenkaku Tower, and Shinsekai is simple and easy. For a day-trip to Kyoto or downtown Osaka, be sure to utilize the popular and super affordable Keihan Main Line from Sembayashi Station.

If you love relaxing in nature, Kuriko offers close proximity to an array of beautiful green spaces. A short taxi ride will take you to the lovely Tsurumi-Ryokuchi Park in five minutes and Kema Sakuranomiya Park in seven minutes. Just a few minutes’ walk from the property, the Yodogawa River is a popular cherry blossom viewing spot and has many picturesque areas, including Shirokita Park. For a taste of local dining and vibrant culture, Sembayashi Arcade is packed with delicious restaurants, supermarkets, and shops. 

For access to the Shinkansen (bullet train), Shin-Osaka station is a short 20-minute cab ride or a half-an-hour train journey with just one stopover. If you’re arriving or departing by airplane, Kansai International Airport is a 55-minute cab ride or one-and-a-half hours by train.

After returning from an exciting day of sightseeing, you’ll love the thoughtful selection of amenities at your disposal. The kitchenette comes with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and kettle, plus all the cooking and cleaning supplies you may need to enjoy a meal prepared at home. 

The first-floor living and dining space offer a very livable sense of flow with a semi-open-plan layout. The fusuma (Japanese sliding doors), dark wooden beams, and futon-style mattress in the tatami bedroom give guests the chance to enjoy traditional Japanese-style interior design without sacrificing western comforts.   

In the living room is a 55-inch flat-screen television complete with a Fire TV Stick so you can sign in to your Netflix account and stream your favorite movies and TV programs. Relax and pamper yourself in the spacious, modern bathroom, which is fully supplied with toiletries, bath products, hair dryer, and fluffy towels.

 For your comfort, each room in the house has its own air conditioning and heating console that you can adjust to suit your needs. The beds are fitted with soft, comfortable sheets to ensure you get a restful night’s sleep. Hang your clothes on the coat rack by the front door and hangers in the upstairs closet space, and enjoy the convenience of your own washer, laundry detergent, iron, and ironing board. High-speed wireless internet is also provided to help you plan your adventures around Osaka and ensure they’re smooth and worry-free.
